On April 9th, 2008, the Paul G. Allen Foundation shelled out $11.8 million in grants to several organizations. Forty-six groups from Washington received financial aid, twenty from Oregon, five from Alaska, and three from Idaho. The amounts given to these philanthropic institutions varied.

The Paul G. Allen Foundation has been actively involved in philanthropy for many years and has helped in providing opportunities for the needy. Though 46 institutions were given the aid they need to further implement their programs, the Foundation has remained steadfast in their commitment to battle homelessness. $400,000 of the $11.8 million grant was given to the Neighborhood Partnership Fund, the largest allocation of the donation.
